"Private support has become an indispensable component of public higher education. The essential elements required to earn strong public support are alumni loyalty, a supportive campus spirit, and a strategic approach to advancement work. Fortunately these essentials are in abundance at HSU. I look forward to helping forge new partnerships for the University and building a best in class university advancement program."

He is the past president of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and has served as a member of its board of directors and chairs its government relations committee.
